Definitive Building, Inc., established in 2002, is a Howard County based remodeling and construction company focusing on the enhancement of residential properties.  DBI’s projects range from visually enhancing trim packages and built-ins, to recreation room/entertainment centers, to additions and full house construction.

DBI was founded and is owned by Steve Kershner.  A native of Howard County, Steve graduated from Hammond High School and was a business major at Howard Community College and the University of Maryland.  He resides in Ellicott City and has focused DBI on providing excellent construction products to customers in Howard and surrounding counties. 

Before starting Definitive Building, Inc., Steve worked with two local custom builders, gaining a full range of experience in the home building trade.  DBI takes great pride in providing quality workmanship to its customers, with all framing and finishing done “in house.”   The DBI building team includes top quality subcontractors with many years of solid custom home experience. We recognize the importance of taking the time to learn customers’ needs and strive to make sure both parties have a clear understanding of the design, materials, finish, cost, and schedule before projects are initiated.  Definitive Building Inc. is committed to this “front end” interaction with its customers and believes it is critical to ensuring a successfully completed project.
